Pastor’s first call was at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Janesville.  He served St. Paul’s from 1967-1972.   The Heinerts moved to Racine in 1972, where he served as senior pastor at Trinty Lutheran Church for 32 years.

Pastor Heinert was an avid golfer and car enthusiast.  However, he was happiest in the company of his family, especially while attending his son’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.

He is survived by his sons, James Heinert of Racine, Joel (Karen) Heinert of Pleasant Prairie and Jonathan (Sheetal) Heinert of Chicago; his grandchildren, Lorin (James) Lewis, Reid Heinert, Ben Heinert, Quinn Heinert, Grace Heinert, and Saajan Heinert; his brothers, Jerry (Glendine) Heinert of Delmont, SD, Larry (Miriam) Heinert of Mendota Heights, MN; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Lulow of Vancouver, WA; brother-in-law, Dick Henderson of Madison, MS; as well as many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents and wife, Barbara, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sharyl Henderson; his brother-in-law, Bruce Lulow; his niece, Ann Henderson, and nephew Richard (Rick) Lulow.

So sad to hear of Pastor Dan’s passing. We were childhood cousin playmates growing up in the Parmelee area. May our Lord comfort his family & friends but joy in knowing we’ll see him someday in heaven! Sorry we are unable to be there but will keep you all in our thoughts & prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time of Pastor Dan’s passing. The family all started here at Parmelee, SD and our Church. Pastor Dan came back and did the service for the Emanual Church’s 100th Anniversary which was the 1st Church started here in the area and then moved to our now St. John Lutheran Church. Pastor Dan’s parents were also Howard’s God Parents. May he rest in peace.

The Joy of the Lord is our strength. From childhood on this is how we felt about your parents. Loyal loving. ❤️ our father Gus Gregory respected your dad and their humors matched. My mom is currently at Parkview. So my sister and I always checked on both of them. We would sing hymns. A couple weeks ago I asked him to pray for all of us. He said here now. We were in the common area. I said yes. We all held hands. Your father prayed a great prayer 🙏 we were so blessed to have them in our lives ❤️ Love in the Lord. Testimonials

October 22, 2015

My family and I would like to thank you and your staff for all the kindness and sincere expressions of sympathy that you extended to us during the loss of my son, Todd Swanson. We appreciate all the extra special things you did to help us through this very difficult time. We didn’t have to think ahead, we just had to be there while every little detail was taken care of by you and your staff. This made an impression on everyone that came, and I will never forget it. Thank you from all of us.
