Racine – Richard E. Strom, 73, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Friday, May 7, 2010. Richard was born in Oconto, WI on February 3, 1937 to the late George and Margaret (nee: Jensen) Strom. After receiving his education from Washington Park High School, Dick went to work as a mechanic / auto-body specialist at his family’s business, Lakeside Auto Sales. On December 2, 1967 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Marjorie “Marge” Weisbrod. Following his career at Lakeside, Dick was employed by AMC / Chrysler, from where he retired. In retirement, especially during the past few years, he enjoyed helping out and spending time with his devoted friends at TVT Delivery Service in Milwaukee. With an abundant amount of knowledge and life experience, he was affectionately known to many as “Mr. Right”, a title he lived up to most all of the time. As a former stockcar builder and driver, he was an avid automobile enthusiast and racing fan. Dick fought the good fight and has now – finished “The Race”. Above all, he loved and cherished his entire family – and spoiling his canine friends. Surviving are his loving wife, Marge; their children, Jeff (Deb) Strom of Beaver Dam; Kenn Strom and Vicki (husband, Randy Stindle) Strom, both of Racine; sister, Beverly (Don) Woten of Racine; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Judy) Weisbrod of Racine and Donald (Norma) Weisbrod of Montello; uncle, John Jensen; aunt, Mary Jensen; many nieces, nephews, cousins; Sr. Junie; and by Tammie, Franko and the entire gang at TVT. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his brothers, Ron and Darrell “Butch” Strom; brother-in-law, David Weisbrod; Marge’s parents, Emery and Helen (nee: Czosnek) Weisbrod; and by his faithful friend, Dusty. A service celebrating Richard’s life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 6:00 pm with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-6 pm. A sincere note of thanks to Dr. David Zablotney and his entire staff; and to everyone at Wheaton Franciscan Medical Center and Hospice, especially Mary, RN for the compassionate care and support that was so genuinely given in Dick’s time of need. May God bless all of you!
