He was born in Racine on April 9, 1938, the son of the late Hans and Helen (nee Helfrich, Jacobson) Thilleman.  He was raised by his mother and stepfather, the late Russell S. Jacobson.

Jake served his nation with the US Army, often boasting his number of jumps out of airplanes. He took great pride of his time in  the Army  as well as Johnson Wax for 32 years and recalled memories with great fondness. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a life member of both the Wisconsin Bowhunters and the NRA. Jake liked to take boat rides, fish, and camp with his wife . Jake enjoyed bowling in his able years and his forever love of playing cribbage until the end.

Jake will be forever remembered as a loving dedicated husband to Lucy,  a wonderful step father, and loving grandfather to his grandchildren.  He was a giving, and caring friend who would never think twice about helping his loved ones, neighbors and friends.  Care givers remember him as a loving, sweet man who was a joy in each person’s day.

He lived in Racine 1938 – 1995, 2011- 2020, Waterford 1995 – 2001, Appleton 2001- 2011, Neenah 2020 -2021, Wild Rose 2021 – 2024.

Jake you were such a pivotal person in my life. Support as a teen and friendship along with the longest losing streak in cribbage as an adult. Love you!

I’m sorry to just find out about this. My cousin “Bobby”, was my Big cousin. The last time I saw him was at my Dad’s funeral. Sorry that we lost contact. He was a good guy.

Testimonials

April 3, 2025

I wanted to personally thank the Draeger – Langendorf Family for the wonderful support and work they provided during my families time of grief when my sister Vanessa Davis Perry passed away in August of 2021. I also would like to thank Leslie Scales who personally assisted with the details of the service & worked with my family for it to turn out as planned.
