Racine – Robert Lamar Post, 52, entered into eternal life on Thursday, February 23, 2012. Robert was born on June 9, 1959, son of Robert D. and Claudine L. (nee: Lamar) Post.
Robert attended Horlick High School in Racine. He was a truck driver for Schneider National for 25 years. Robert was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed his yearly trips in June to Hayward and his favorite destination, the Chippewa Flowage. Robert was a collector of guns but did not hunt because he was a lover of animals. He was a talented amateur photographer and was very proud of the many photographs that he had taken over the years. Robert also loved to cook. He made his own chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and was especially proud of his shrimp etoufee. Robert will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Claudine Post of Racine; sister, Terry (Joe) Oberdorfer of Racine; special uncle, Ronald Post of Racine; uncle, Melvin Lamar of Minnesota; aunts, Arlene (Gene) Levendoski, Delores (Jim) Lipscomb, Iona Post, all of Racine, Marion Felber of Louisiana; special friend, Debbie Clark of Illinois; special pets, Dottie and Gibson, and numerous cousins too numerous to mention. In addition to his father, Robert was preceded in death by a host of aunts and uncles.
A memorial service for Robert will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, 11am, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. John Bodnar officiating. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of the service.
