Robert Lee Raynie

Sep 19, 1923 – Oct 13, 2008

Union Grove- Robert Lee Raynie, 85, passed away at his home on Monday, October 13, 2008. Robert was born in Sioux City, Iowa on September 19, 1923 to the late William and Goldie (nee: Bourrett) Booker, Jr. He served our Country with the United States Navy for over 20 years. On November 27, 1947 in Yuma, AZ he was united in marriage to Bertha Alverta Weatherill, who preceded him in death on March 11, 1999. For many years, Robert was employed by Twin Disc in Racine. He also enjoyed working for NAPA Auto Parts in Union Grove for nearly 20 years. Robert enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching football and car racing. Above all, he devoted his life to caring for his family, of whom he was so extremely proud. Surviving are his daughter, Deborah Kay Raynie; son, Darryl Lee Raynie; sister, Delores (Ben) Vitacco; sisters-in-law, Mabel Polk and Ruth Weatherill; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service of committal will be offered on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 11 am in the chapel of Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Hwy C, in Union Grove.
