
Robert M. Myers, 81, passed away in Kenosha United Hospital on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Bob was born in Kenosha on August 15, 1930, the son of the late Mark and Marie (nee: Muhlenkort) Myers.
Bob served his country, during the Korean War, with the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne. On April 28, 1951, in St. Mark Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to the former Georgia Guido. Bob had been employed by American Motors Corp. for over 25 years. He was an avid skier, golfer, biker, sky diver, roller blader, and boater. Bob was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, the Professional Ski Instructors of America, the Kenosha Youth Foundation, UAW Local 72 retirees, a co-director of Wilmot Mountain, and a former member of the Kenosha Yacht Club.
Surviving are his loving wife, of 60 years, Georgia; their devoted daughter, Kelly (Scott) Wallig, of Chandler, AZ, and his brother-in-law, Jim Guido, of Kenosha. Bob also is survived by his cousins in South Dakota, and numerous friends and ski students.
A memorial service celebrating Bob’s life will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, March 4th, at 4:00 p.m., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary.
