FRANKLIN, TN (FORMERLY OF MOUNT PLEASANT) – Mr. Robert Wallenta, 90, passed away on June 18, 2020.
He was born in Western Springs, IL on October 16, 1929, the son of the late Bernard Henry Alton and Helen Hedwig (nee: Ulrich) Wallenta. Bob proudly served his nation with the U.S Army from July 1947 until August 1949. He held the rank of corporal upon his discharge.
On January 17, 1953 he married Martha “Pat” Carroll. They raised their family in Mount Pleasant and moved to Tennessee in 1995 after retirement. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2004. In February of 2006 he married Helen Jordan.
Bob retired as a tool room foreman with Eckmann Pressed Metal after over 20 years of service. He was a member of the Racine Belle City Masonic Lodge #18 and enjoyed bike riding and camping. He especially loved overseeing the creation of the perfect campfire.
In addition to his wife Helen, Bob is survived by his daughter, Carol (Jerry) Cooper of Kenosha; his son, David (Mary) Wallenta of Mount Pleasant; his sons-in-law, Randy Husman of Oshkosh, Clay Johnson of Racine, Bobby Sylvester of Coshocton, OH and daughter-in-law, Theresa Wallenta of Las Vegas. He is further survived by 24 grandchildren; over 20 great grandchildren; as well as step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren from his marriage with Helen; as well as extended family. He was also preceded in death by his daughters, Linda Husman, Sharon Johnson and Cynthia Sylvester; his son, Thomas Wallenta; and his brother and sister, Bernard Wallenta and Grace Dickman.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, June 25, 2020 for a visitation from 10-11 a.m. A service honoring his life will follow at 11:00 a.m. In accordance with Racine County mandate, only 50 people will be allowed to enter the funeral home at a time. We thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation during this difficult time. His interment with military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Oh I am so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Your family was such an important part of my childhood. I remember many a night spent at your house and going to the camper on the lake. My heart goes out to you all.

My deepest sympathy to all the family. Bob was a great husband and father as I learned while he was a member of Christ Methodist church. He was always ready to offer a helping hand for any purpose in church and supported all this children’s activities.
