Rose Ann "Rosie" Spiglanin

Oct 21, 1946 – Jan 7, 2011

Racine– Rose Ann Spiglanin, 64, affectionately known all her life as “Rosie”, passed away peacefully at Ridgewood Care Center on Friday, January 7, 2011.

Rosie was born in Racine on October 21, 1946 to the late Kostek and Mary Ann (nee: Radziwon) Spieglanin. She was one of the pioneer employees of Careers Industries, retiring after 34 years of tireless and dedicated service.

Rosie was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, and later in life, of St. Richard Catholic Church. Extremely bright and artistic, she enjoyed painting, weaving, crocheting, knitting and dancing – especially square dancing and polkas. Rosie was a ray of sunshine, who lit up a room wherever she went.

Surviving are her niece, Theresa Spiglanin; great-nieces, Amanda Hemm; Brittany and Nikole Radtke; special friends, Bernetta Hutchinson; Barbara and George Godlewski; many other dear relatives and friends, including her extended family at Careers and Ridgewood, all of whom will dearly miss Rosie.  Rosie was preceded in death by her father, Kostek Spieglanin on October 11, 1983; mother, Mary A. Spieglanin on June 11, 1998; and beloved brother, John S. Spiglanin, on November 8, 1996.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church, 1509 Grand Ave., with Rev. Ronald J. Gramza officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum of Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 9-11 am. In memory of Rosie, memorials to Careers Industries or St. Richard’s Parish have been suggested.
