Rose Marie Nimmer

Sep 9, 1933 – Sep 4, 2012

   RACINE – Rose Marie Nimmer, 78, passed away at WFH – All Saints on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.

   She was born in Chicago, IL on September 9, 1933, the daughter of the late Rudolf and Lena (nee: Trafficanta) Camera.

   Rose Marie led a very active life that focused on helping others.   In addition to raising four sons she served as PTA President, Cub Scout Den Mother, Sturtevant Village Board member, and as a volunteer candy striper at Great Lakes Naval Hospital during the Vietnam War.  Whether Rose Marie was assisting wounded veterans, a troubled child or a stranger in need, her intentions were sincerely altruistic.

   Her survivors include her sons, Alan Nimmer of Union Pier, MI, Willie Nimmer, Jr. of Somers; her granddaughters, Aidan (Dr. Timothy) Kao of St. Paul, MN, Loran Nimmer of Phoenix, AZ; her former husband of 25 years, Dr. Wilbur A. Nimmer, Sr. of Somers; her sister, Frances Jean (Michael) Fitzgerald of Oak Park, IL; as well as dear nieces and nephews.   In addition to her parents, Rose Marie was preceded in death by her sons, Steven W. Nimmer and David W. Nimmer and by her brother, Michael “Sonny” Camera.

   Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. for a service celebrating Rose Marie’s life and memorial service with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.  There will be a visitation in the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 p.m.  Those wishing to designate a memorial in Rose Marie’s name are asked to consider the Disabled American Veterans or other foundations the help those who served our nation.
