Samantha Leann Farris

Sep 22, 1987 – Oct 10, 2015

Samantha Leann Farris, 28 was granted her angel wings on October 10, 2015.  Her final days were spent in Fresno, Texas with her family for the celebration of birth of her nephew Jaxson whom shares Samantha’s birthday.

To some, Samantha’s life would seem too short, but for those who were touched by her smile, kindness, ad love would understand that her illness may have made her appear fragile.  Samantha possessed strength and perseverance in her ability to overcome the challenge of Sickle Cell Disease. Sammie enjoyed being a part of the color guard dance troupe at Ryile Academy in Dallas.

Samantha was born in Racine on September 22, 1987, the beloved daughter of Sam Farris and Bridgette Tye. Samantha graduated from Washington Park High School in 2006 and was a lifelong resident of Racine.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother Bridgette Tye of Fresno, Texas; and father, Sammy (Kimberly) Farris of Racine; brothers and sisters Shavonda Harris of Fresno, Chason Tye of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Darnell Freeman and Sicarra Farris both of Racine. Samantha is further survived by her grandparents Lalar M. Farris and Benjamin Tye; her long-time companion Sedric Hunter all of Racine; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Samantha has family and friends in Dallas, Texas. Samantha was preceded in death by her grandparents Samuel C. Farris and Rose Lee Tye.

The celebration of Samantha's home going will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Draeger Lagendorf Funeral Home with Reverend Daryn D. Crenshaw officiating. Visitation and viewing will take place from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.

Samantha's family expresses their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at All Saints Hospital and Froedtert Memorial Hospital for their kindness, and compassionate care provided to Samantha all of these years.

Testimonials

November 13, 2019

The funeral service was just beautiful and very warming to everyone including my family. All the pictures they did and the employees were just fantastic. This is one funeral home I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to feel comfortable and to be treated like family. I can’t say enough good things because it was just such a warm welcome. Thank you to Mark and Mike. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.

Jim Ferdon
