
RACINE – Sandra “Sandy” (nee: Lock) Pete, age 71, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center on Wednesday, December 31, 2014.
Sandra was born in Racine on October 24, 1943 to the late Harry & Florence (nee: Gerber) Lock. On August 18, 1962, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, George Pete. After George’s retirement from JI Case Corporation, they moved full-time into their summer home in Athelstane, WI.
Among her interests, Sandy enjoyed camping, shopping, playing cards and was proud of George’s Native-American heritage of the Ottawa Indian Tribe. Above all, Sandy loved and cherished being in the surroundings of her entire family and circle of friends.
Surviving are her children, Todd (Nicole Marquez) Pete, Jamie Pete and Jodi (Bill Jaklich) Pete; grandchildren, Skylar, Nicholas and Sammy Sanchez; brother, Ronald Lock; lifelong friends, Rose & John Meyer; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, George on September 5, 2007; son, Chad Pete , who had his life taken from him on June 24, 2000; brothers, Gordon (Opal) Lock and Leroy (Alice) Lock; sisters, Kathleen (Raymond) Sleeman and Gladys (Courtney) Greeley; and sister-in-law, Betty Lock.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 12:00 noon in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 -7 pm and on Wednesday from 11 am – 12 noon.
