
Racine – Sebila Mary (nee: Rose) Funk, 72, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Thursday, March 1, 2012.
A lifetime resident, Sebila was born in Racine on May 9, 1939 to the late John “Jack” and Helen (nee: Gleixner) Rose. She graduated from William Horlick High School in 1957.
On June 21, 1958 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sebila was united in marriage with Richard Charles Funk. Following Dick’s death on April 12, 1987 she went to work for Maple Leaf Farms, from where she retired. Among her interests, Sebila enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading books and gambling at various casinos throughout Wisconsin.
Surviving are her sister, Susanna Brown; brother, John (Ima) Rose; brothers-in-law, Clarence (Diane) Brown, Sr. and Edward Funk; special nephew and niece, Clarence Brown Jr. and Rosalie (James) Nichols. In addition to her parents, Sebila was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley (Frank) Fabish and Lorraine (Nick) Acordi.
A public visitation will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 5-7 pm. Private services and interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
