Memorial Suggestions

In memory of Sherrylyn, offer a kind deed to someone in need.

Racine – Sherrylyn (nee: Dotson) Campbell, age 61, affectionately known by many as “T.T. Tubby”, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, at home on Wednesday February 24, 2021.

Sherrylyn was born in Parkin, Arkansas on March 19, 1959. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1977, she furthered her education at University of Wisconsin – Madison and was a sister of the Alpha Angels. She loved to serve others and worked tirelessly as an outreach advocate with UW Extension Parkside, Women’s Resource Center, Coordinator of the T-Block Gardens on Randolph Street, and various Racine organizations to enhance the lives of those in need. Sherrylyn truly modeled herself to be like “Mother Theresa”, always placing the needs of others before her own.

She was a proud member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the Pastor’s Helper’s Committee and was the treasurer. With her infectious smile and positive outlook, Sherrylyn brought joy to family and friends, she enjoyed playing board games, puzzles and spending time with family.

She leaves to cherish precious memories, son Will E. Campbell; mother, Jean O. (nee: Dotson) King; sisters and brothers, Carolyn (Richard Douglas) Wright-Douglas, Michael Dotson, Barbara J. (Ronald Sr.) Wright, Jeffery Dotson, Kimberly Dotson-Brooks and Renee (Deniseon) King, Marian (Clinton) Williams, Darrell King, Edward (ToeBuddy) Slaughter, William Slaughter, Vivian Slaughter-Mitchell, Anthony Slaughter, other siblings, god children Reshea Barker, Shay Wells, and M.L Dale. She is further survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends – too numerous to mention all by name.

She was preceded in death by her beautiful infant daughter Edwina Marie Campbell, ex-husband Eddie H. Campbell, father Will Slaughter, stepfather Archie D. King and god parents Calvin and Susie Matt.

Family homegoing services celebrating Sherrylyn’s life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Sunday March 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby officiating.
