Shirley Mae, I cannot thank you enough for having accepted me in the Kopecky’s family with such motherly warmth, kindness and unconditional generosity. I will miss everything about you and follow your inspirational way of fighting pain with the positiveness of the quiet hero you are. Lots of love from Marseille, France – daughter in law and in love. I know “Mums” Kopecky mostly as a youth when we were just learning to play. Always appreciative of her and Pops’ support. Enduring our noise after a long work day twice per week. Always treated me well. Felt like an extension of family (til Pops would throw me out of the house in the snow if I were there and Vikings lost). Rest easy Mums. Love you always

My wife Katy and I only got to meet her one time a couple years back when she was visiting her son here in Marseille. We found her to be full of life, easy to get to know and impossible do not love. Our lives were richer for the knowing of her and we formed an instant bond! That she is gone is so sad. The world is a little bit smaller place but again richer for having known her life. I know our lives were richer for for been able to call her a friend.

Shirley was the best neighbor and friend. Such a loving & caring woman. She welcomed my daughter and I to the neighborhood with open arms 2 yrs ago. I will miss our morning conversations and laughs when she would walk her furbaby “Buddy”. Rest in Peace Shirley, you will be missed.
