Stanley Clarence Krogh

vet
Apr 24, 1919 – Nov 2, 2013

STURTEVANT – Mr. Stanley C. Krogh, 94, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by side on Saturday, November 2, 2013.

He was born in Racine on April 24, 1919, the son of the late Nels and Sadie (nee: Hansen) Krogh.  He graduated from Washington Park High School where he was captain of the football team for three years.  He was at Soldier Field at a Bears with friends when Pearl Harbor was attacked.  He immediately enlisted with the U.S. Army Air Corp where he proudly served his nation.  Stan had the opportunity to be a part of the Honor Flight two years ago.  On June 25, 1949 he married the love of his life, Rita Pfeiffer at St. Edward’s parsonage.

Stan retired from Massey-Ferguson in 1982 after forty years of employment.  He was a longtime member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church.   Stan had many pastimes and passions, including; playing organized baseball in his younger years with Thompson Gasoline Alley, participating in numerous bowling  leagues, playing lots of golf with his dear wife, Rita and friends, cheering for the Chicago Bears and Cubs and walking.  He registered over 42,000 miles walking after his retirement.  His greatest enjoyment however came from being in the company of his entire family, especially his dear Rita and loving daughter, Lani.  He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his kindness and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife and daughter, Stan is survived by his sisters-in-law, Ruth Krogh, Lucille Felton, Joan Johnson, Elaine Stuhr, Raymond (Shirley) Pfeiffer, William Geertsen; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; especially his good friends from McDonalds and his bowling leagues.  Stan was also preceded in death by his brothers, John, Harold, Ted, Ed, Robert and Elmer Krogh; sisters, Ruth Ohlson, Lydia Jensen, Naomi Graylow, Lillian Damaschke, Bernice Ruffalo;  father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Margaret Pfeiffer; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Tomasek, Jackie Geertsen, Arnold Felton, Walter Johnson and Carl Stuhr.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. for the celebration of his life and funeral service.   There will be a visitation in the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  His interment will follow the service at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum.  Memorials have been suggested to the Health Care Network of Racine County.

A very special thank you to Dr. Paul Durbin and his staff as well as everyone from WFH- Hospice for the loving and professional attention provided to the entire Krogh family.
