Theresa’s family are celebrating her wonderful life in private.

Theresa Marie Richard, 78, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 7th, 2026, at her home away from home, The Woods of Caledonia in Racine, Wisconsin, where she was cared for with dignity and love.
Theresa was born on August 1, 1947, in East Point, Florida, to William Clyde (June) and Dorothy Louise (Cain) Richard. She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, sister, and aunt.
She was the cherished mother of Tamara Eastman and Travis (Maggie) Eastman; her children were the center of her life and the recipients of her steady love and self-sacrificing spirit. She was a proud grandmother to Paul (Casey) Wortman, Emily (Jack Hall) Wortman, Brenton Eastman, and Kalista Eastman, and a loving great‑grandmother to Ryker Wortman, Julian Mendoza, and David Gister, each one bringing her deep joy.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Allen Richard, Katie Varri, Nellie Olsen, Becky VandeWetering, and Steve Edwards. She is survived by her loving sisters Rachel Anderson and Elizabeth Ruddy, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember her warmth, humor, and loving heart.
Theresa grew up on a farm and especially loved working in the greenhouse, where her lifelong love of plants and flowers first took root. She enjoyed countless hours in her yard, carefully tending her landscaping; neighbors often stopped to visit, complimenting how beautiful her yard looked and staying to share warm conversation. She is remembered as a kind-hearted, sweet and loving person who always went above and beyond to help others. Her beautiful smile could light up a room. She lived her life with grace, style and elegance.
Theresa worked hard as a contractor and took pride in working with her hands, doing remodeling projects and transforming spaces with skill and determination. She also spent many years working as a security guard and was proud to be the first female security guard at Harley‑Davidson.
Theresa cherished her spiritual heritage as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and deeply loved her God, Jehovah, and Jesus Christ, drawing strength and comfort from her faith. That faith guided her outlook on life, shaped the kindness she showed to others, and gave her a hope she held onto firmly.
Theresa will be remembered for her gentle presence, her willingness to work hard, her love of beautiful gardens and welcoming spaces, and her steadfast faith. The love she poured into her family and friends, her work, and her service to God will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew her.
