Service Details

In accordance with Tom’s wishes, a private service will be held.

Franksville – Thomas Edward Finn, age 87, passed away peacefully in his wife’s arms at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Friday, November 22, 2024.

Tom was born in Racine on August 16, 1937 to the late James and Joyce (nee: Clausen) Finn. He attended Beebe School and Washington Park High School. On May 21, 1960 at First Reformed Church, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Patricia Marie (nee: Kaisler). Tom devoted himself to our community, serving as a deputy sheriff for Racine County Sheriff’s Department for over 25 years, retiring in 1991.

Tom was a longtime Master Mason with the Racine Masonic Lodge, where he remained active until its closure. Among his interests, Tom enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing, camping, deer hunting, woodworking, building bird houses, watching & admiring birds, making cribbage boards & playing cribbage, working in the yard, was a jack of all trades who could bring any broken part back to life, decorating for holidays & dressing up as Santa Claus for family and friends, watching cooking shows even though he did not cook, playing a good game of Texas Hold Em and Black Jack and sipping on an occasional blackberry brandy while telling a joke to anyone who would listen. Above all, Tom was a phenomenal family man, who always had an admirable amount of patience, and who loved his wife, children & grandchildren more than anything in the world.

Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Patricia; daughter, Joanne Marie Finn;  grandchildren, Jordan Finn, Jenna Schatzman and Jacob Schatzman, Thomas “TJ” Finn, James Finn Kincaid; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Hallie & Damien Finn, Joshua & Dean Finn, Lotus & Arlo Neave; brother, James (Linda) Finn; sister, Kay Rowland; brother-in-law, Dennis Kaisler; sisters-in-law, Norrine (Ken Block) Kaisler-Block and Cindy (Lyndy) McClure; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, James and Joyce Finn, Tom was preceded in death by his God-son, Douglas Kaisler; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Stormy Finn; sister-in-law, Mary Kaisler; brothers-in-law, Jerome Kaisler and Bruce Rowland; by Pat’s parents, Joseph and Delores Kaisler; and daughter, Debra Kincaid.

In accordance with Tom’s wishes, a private service will be held.

A heartfelt note of thanks to the wonderful staff at the Villas at Lincoln Park and to the physicians & nurses at Ascension All Saints for the compassionate care and support given in Tom’s time of need.  A special thank you to Dr. Nicholas Pryomski at Aurora Health Care for years of care and understanding.  May God bless all of you!

Tom was such a fun guy to be around at the campground. I will forever hear him sing: Do the “hoky poky” and turn yourself around, cause that’s what it’s all about!” His smile and big hugs are tremendously missed when I go to the bathroom up there. I will also cherish the memories of him driving the tractor, pulling the hay rides around the camp. I think of him and Bud every time I ride the wagon.

Thank you Tom Finn, for being the wonderful you all the years of your life!

Tom was a pleasure to have as a resident. One of the reasons that I love what I do, is the bond that I can build. Although stubborn and hardheaded, 🫶🏻 Mr. Finn was the biggest teddy bear. He always brightened my day.
