Virginia Katherine Faas

Mar 27, 1935 – Jul 25, 2012

Racine – Virginia Katherine Faas, 77, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at her residence, surrounded by the love of her family.

Virginia was born on March 27, 1935, in Saukville, WI, to the late Arthur Marunde and Adeline Feldman.  She was lovingly raised by her grandparents, the late Rudolph and Katherine Feldman.

Virginia was united in marriage to Robert J. Faas, on October 2, 1954.  During their 57 years of marriage, they resided in Sheboygan, WI, Stanton, CA, Madison, WI, Schaumburg, IL, and for the last 30 years, in Racine, WI.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Anyone who knew Virginia knew how much she treasured her family and friends.  Her kindness, laughter, and smile will truly be missed by many.  Virginia was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.

Virginia leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Robert Faas; daughter, Diana (Marty) Egan; grandchildren, Breanna Sowa, Ryan Sowa, Matthew (Jenny) Egan, Marianne Egan, Molly Egan; great-grandchildren, George Brown, Alice Egan; sister, Melinda (Jesse) Versch; sister-in-law, Lois Faas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.  In addition to her parents and grandparents, Virginia is preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Leroy, Donald, and Eugene Faas.

A funeral service for Virginia will be celebrated on Friday, August 3, 2012, 6:30pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. Dr. Melvin Miritz officiating.  Visitation will be from 3:00 until the time of the service.  Private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.  The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society.

The family would like to give special thanks for the quality care given at Froedert Hospital, the loving and caring staff at Heartland Hospice, especially her nurses, Amy and Sarah, and aids, Rebecca and Nicole, and Patricia at Bright-Star Home Care.

Lee and I send our condolences to you Bob. Your name came up recently. Lee was telling our sons about the time at PIP when you were cut severely, the EMT’s did not listen when he asked them to keep pressure on your injury & you lost lots of blood. Hope all is well with your family.

The Family of Barbara Bell

Michael,

First, let me start out by saying you were a God sent working with me for many years in preparations for my mom’s Homegoing Celebration December 7, 2024. Even though this was our first time meeting in person, I felt like I already knew you. Michael, you demonstrated professionalism, empathy and, your warmth was surprising for me considering your role as a Funeral Director. Your attention to every detail, patient and support has made this process much easier for my family and me. I trusted you and you helped me find closure in a moment of great sadness, and for that we’re eternally grateful. I appreciate the time and energy you put into ensuring everything ran smoothly considering I reside in a different state. Michael, my mom would have loved you and our family is forever grateful for your unwavering dedication and support during our season of grief. May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. (Numbers 6:25)
