
Racine- Walter “Wally” Kogutkiewicz, 78, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded with the love of his family, on Thursday, February 16, 2012.
Wally was born on April 30, 1933 to the late Martin and Mary Kogutkiewicz. He proudly served our Country with the United States Army in the Korean War.
On January 2, 1987 he was united in marriage with Bonnie (nee: Sievert) Kogutkiewicz. With a profound work ethic, Wally was employed for many years as a commercial fisherman on Lake Michigan. He also worked for Lathrop Furniture. In retirement, Wally continued working for One-Hour Martinizing Dry Cleaners, until age 75.
Surviving are his loving wife, Bonnie; children, Wally (Linda) Kogutkiewicz, Cindy (Dan) Jensen, Sherry Kogutkiewicz and Mike (Jeannie) Kogutkiewicz; step-daughters, Patti (Tom) Slobodianuk and Debbie (Ed) Belmonte; grandchildren, Walt Kogutkiewicz, Bobbi (Jon) Fergus, Jon (Sam) LeGath, Tyler LeGath; Brianna, Reese, Danielle and Kaiya Slobodianuk; Ben and Rachael Belmonte; 3 great-grandchildren, Julianna Fergus; great-grandchild Fergus and great-grandchild LeGath, both due to be born in June 2012; sister, Pearl (Tom) Bower; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name.
Private family services will take place this summer in Chippewa Falls, a place that Wally loved to spend time.
