William A. Pogue

Racine– William A. “Bill” Pogue, age 85, passed away peacefully in his reclining lounge-chair at home on Wednesday, November 21, 2012.   

Bill was born in Muhlenberg, Kentucky on January 13, 1927 to the late Leslie and Nodie (nee: Goodall) Pogue. He faithfully served our Country with the United States Army in WWII. On December 30, 1950 he was united in marriage with Lillian F. (nee: Traughber) Pogue, who preceded him in death on August 2, 2007.  

Bill was employed by Harris Metals as a heat treat specialist for over 30 years. He enjoyed playing cards – especially Solitaire, gardening, and was extremely patriotic. Above all, he cherished being in the surroundings of his entire family.  

Surviving are his children, Ronnie Pogue, Mary (John) Kristzonas Jr., and Noah Pogue; grandchildren, Jennifer (Christian) Boedecker, Melissa Kristzonas and John Kristzonas III; great-granddaughter, Annalysa Boedecker; and many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Molly Pogue; son, Leslie Pogue; brothers, Guy (Alice) Pogue, Dudley (Ruth) Pogue and Ellis (Edenll) Pogue; and sister, Bessie (Bill) Rameberger.  

Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 11am – 1 pm.
