Wilton Eugene Tye ,53, passed away on September 28, 2016.

He was born January 26, 1963 in Chicago, IL.  He graduated from Washington Park High School in 1981 and was a lifelong resident of Racine, WI.

Wilton was very talented in repair work, building restoration and carpentry.  He learned his trade from his father Benjamin Tye and continued to perfect it all his life. Wilton was loved and admired by many.  He had a passion for helping others and loved shopping for cars.  He spent his final days surrounded by family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his three children, Andrew Joseph Tye, of Los Angeles, California, Amber Nicole Tye of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Ashley Leanne Tye of Butler, Wisconsin, his father Benjamin Tye of Racine, WI ,  five sisters and five brothers: Rita Tye, Sharon Tye, Jerome Tye, Darnell Tye and Maria Robinson all of Racine, Wisconsin ,  Larry Darnell (Cynthia) Kelley of Chicago Heights, Illinois and Melvin Jerome (Faith) Kelley of  Harvey, Illinois, Bridgette Tye of Fresno, Texas, Benjamin Eugene Kelley of  Oakland, California,  Brenda Tye of Miami, Florida,  a host of aunts and uncles and  nieces, nephews.  His special friends Tyrone Johnson, Richard Hamilton and Joe Brownlee.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Alice Perkins, his mother Rose Tye and his sister Belinda Gettis.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. for a Homegoing memorial service.  There will be time to visit with his family from 10-11 a.m.
