Racine– Xavier Lorray Cooper, 20, received the promise of Eternal Life on Wednesday, July 4, 2012.
He was born in Racine on January 6, 1992 – the son of Shelton and Nancy (nee: Conner) Cooper. Xavier was a handsome, hardworking and motivated young man….whose bright smile was infectious and humble confidence was magnetic.
A graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 2010”, Xavier was always known to be intelligent and level headed. As an extreme sports fan, he began playing basketball at a very young age. He also had a great appreciation for art and music. Recently, Xavier was excited about spending time in the music studio while working on an album with his best friends.
He leaves behind to cherish his precious memory: mom and dad, Nancy and Shelton Cooper; sisters, Vanessa, Sasha and Sabrina Cooper; brother, Zion Cooper; nephew and nieces, Marques, Taniyah, Shaniya and Saraya; mother of his soon-to-be-born child, Ashley Andrews; aunts and uncles, Lisa Cooper, Armared Howell, Shed James, Sherry James and Schenell Conner; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name.
In addition to his grandparents, Xavier was preceded in death by his uncle, Lee Charles James.
Funeral services will be held on THURSDAY, July 12, 2012 at 11:00 am in St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1123 Center Street. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 9-11 am. Memorials to the Xavier Cooper Memorial Fund (c/o: Educator’s Credit Union) have been suggested.
Xavier’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to family and friends, including members of the community that they have never met, for the overwhelming outpour of love and support during this most difficult time. May God bless all of you!
