
Racine- Patricia H. (nee: Hansen) Czosnek, 84, found peace on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at the Becker-Shoop Center following a longtime struggle with Alzheimer’s. Pat was born in Chicago, IL on September 30, 1921 to the late Percy Viggo and Clara (nee: Thielen) Hansen. A 1941 graduate of Washington Park High School, she lived most of her life in Racine. On June 30, 1947 at Atonement Lutheran Church, Pat was united in marriage to the love of her life, Harry John Czosnek. She was employed with various companies during her career, retiring from Massey-Ferguson as a secretary. Pat was a longtime member of Atonement Lutheran Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an outstanding and talented seamstress, enjoyed knitting, and also liked to bowl. Pat was an animal enthusiast, being especially fond of horses and dogs. She was formerly a member of the Racine Homing Pigeon Club. Above all, Pat was a devoted wife and mother, and will be dearly missed. Surviving are her husband, Harry; son, Michael Jerome (Dolores) Czosnek of Socorro, N.M.; daughter, Sawyer Magdalen (Stephen) DeMint of Racine; sisters, Pearl (Jerry) Wilear of Racine and Gertrude Marie Nerad of Sister Bay; brother, John Viggo (Ruth) Hansen of Spring Green; sisters-in-law, Mary Adams and Lillian (Harry) Torosian, both of Racine; and Mavis Czosnek of Maine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Raymond Nerad, Sheridan Adams, John (Carmen) Czosnek, Ed and Joe Czosnek; and by sisters-in-law, Julia (Robert) DeHahn and Helen (Emery) Weisbrod. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Sunday, December 4, 2005 at 5:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Warren D. Williams officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 pm. Private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park on Monday. In memory of Pat, memorials to Atonement Lutheran Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association are encouraged. A special note of thanks to all the nurses and caregivers at Becker-Shoop Center for the wonderful care that was so warmly extended to Pat and for the incredible amount of patience and understanding over the past 8 years.
