Thomas M. Braun

vet
Dec 31, 1951 – Jan 12, 2016

Racine – Thomas Michael Braun, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center.

A lifetime resident, Tom was born in Racine on December 31, 1951 to the late Jerome and Dorothy (nee: Konrad) Braun. Proud to have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, recipient of the “God and Country” award, and a 1970 graduate of JI Case High School, Tom went on to faithfully serve our country with the United States Army in Germany.

On November 4, 1972 in Racine, Tom was united in marriage with his dearly loved wife, Jeri Ann (nee: Ernst). Tom was employed for over 40 years as a skilled & trusted steamfitter member of local 118 in SE Wisconsin, most recently for Mechanical, Inc.

Tom was an active member of the Winchester Gun Club where he enjoyed traveling with friends on various expeditions. He was an avid sportsman, hunter and fisherman. Above all, Tom’s greatest joy in life was his family – especially his adored granddaughter, Kallie.

Surviving are his loving wife of 43 years, Jeri; beloved daughter, Natalie Braun; cherished granddaughter, Kallie Braun (also known as “Little Girl” to Tom); brother, James (Karen) Braun; sisters-in-law, Becky Ernst and Sue (Kurt) Lorenzini; his faithful canine companion, Maddie; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends – too numerous to mention by name.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 6 pm at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home with Fr. Dustin Fecht officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.  Cremation has taken place and private inurnment will be at West Lawn Memorial Park. In recognition of Tom’s love for animals, memorials to the Wisconsin Humane Society – Racine Campus has been suggested.

Testimonials

Lisa Burczyk

My husband, Tom, died on Jan. 24, 2015. From that life-changing day and still now, Gary and his sons have been at my side taking care of me, advising me, and guiding me with their sensitive, caring, and efficient expertise. I have heard from friends and family how perfect and wonderful the funeral service was (it was a blur for me), and I have the beautiful obit, memorial booklets, CD rom of slide show, celebration candle, portrait, and even personalized thank you cards to provide memories and comfort during difficult days ahead. My heart is full of thanks and appreciation to Gary Langendorf and his entire family.
