Sturtevant – Waldemor “Wally” P. Schultz, 79, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday evening, June 5, 2012.
Wally was born in Steel Valley, WI on March 23, 1933 to the late Emil and Anabelle (nee: Miller) Schultz. He moved to Racine in 1954.
With a tireless work ethic, Wally owned and operated Schultz Grading & Excavating Contractor, Inc. from 1960 until his retirement in 1996. As an accomplished musician, he was an extremely talented guitarist who was passionate for country music. Wally played with many bands in his lifetime, including his very own “Wally Schultz & the Country Boys”. He also was a founder of the annual Country Music Jamboree in Black River Falls where Wally played amongst country legends: George Jones, Ray Price and Carl Perkins – just to name a few. When he wasn’t working or playing music, Wally enjoyed fishing and hunting. Above all, he was happiest while in the surroundings of his entire family.
Surviving are his daughters, Shari Schultz and Jane (Paul Thoele) Schultz; step-daughters, Sandra (David) Moseley and Kim Schmidt; grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Fumich, Jon Fumich and Keri (Eric) Steen; 6 great-grandchildren; former wife and lifelong partner, Barbara Ann (nee: Halverson, Schmidt) Schultz; sister, Fern (Bert) Johnson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends too numerous to mention by name.
In addition to his parents, Wally was preceded in death by his sister, Goldene (Clarence) Michaels; and brothers, Junior Schultz and Harold (Norma) Schultz.
Memorial services celebrating Wally’s life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 4 pm with Rev. Gary Thaler officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 pm. In accordance with Wally’s wishes, cremation will take place.
A heartfelt note of thanks to the entire staff of Wheaton Franciscan Hospice for the compassionate care and support given to Wally in his time of need. May God bless all of you!
