Mt. Pleasant – Laurel L. “Lolly” van Putten, 72, passed away at home on Sunday, December 31, 2017 following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Superior on June 26, 1945, daughter of the late Roy and Geraldine (nee: Olson) Winters. On February 14, 1981 she was united in marriage to Tonnie van Putten. Lolly enjoyed her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 20 years until retiring in 2007.

Left to treasure her memory are her husband Tonnie van Putten of Mt. Pleasant; sons Todd Harrington of Superior, and Robbie (Irene) Harrington of Racine; daughters Angelita (Harry) v/d Boogaard of Houthalen-Helchteren, Belgium, Samantha van Putten (Yoeri) of Overpelt, Belgium, and Brenda (Samuel) Mendez of Racine; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lorraine Winters; best friend Diane Finger; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Eugene Winters, Ethel (Ben) Pattee, Lois (Marshal) Mattson, Barbara (Lewis) West, and Walter “Butch” Winters.

All are invited to visit with her family in the funeral home on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 10am – 12 noon; which will conclude with a Nightingale Tribute to her nursing career.

Our family offers a special thank you to Dr. Michael Mullane and his staff, the Aurora Hospice team, and her niece and dearest friend Laura Marquardt.
