Racine – Sammie Ward Jr., age 78 of Racine, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Sammie was born on September 24, 1941 to Sammie and Mary Lou (nee Bowen) Ward Sr. in Tennessee. Sammie later relocated to Racine, Wisconsin where he became employed by an retired from J.I. Case Corporation.
Sammie was preceded in death by his parents Sammie Ward Sr. and Mary Lou Ward; his son Ernest Ward; granddaughter Ranisha Mullins Ward; siblings Dorothy Claybrook, Harold Ward, Homer Hunt and Willie Ward.
Sammie leaves to cherish his memory, his children James Ward, Robert Ward, Brenda Ward, Diane Ward and Larry Ward; his grandchildren; sisters Mary Born and Barbara Ward as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name.
Sammie will missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of His Life will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 12:00pm in the Chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd., Racine, WI. Visitation will be in the Chapel from 10:00am until the time of service.
