James "Pops" Roy Andersen

Service Details

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Harbor Lite Yacht Club (559 State Street) on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. for a gathering celebrating “Pop’s” life.

 

His interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park on Monday, August 16th at 11:00 a.m.

Memorial Suggestions

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.

RACINE – James “Pops” Andersen, 80, passed away at Froedtert South in Pleasant Prairie on Thursday, July 29, 2021.

He was born in Racine on April 9, 1941, the son of the late Roy Ove and Margaret (nee Steltz) Andersen.

James graduated from William Horlick High School in 1959.  He retired from S.C. Johnson Wax in 1999 after 39 years of service as a package developer.

He was a lifetime member of Living Faith (formerly Atonement) Lutheran Church and the Harbor Lite Yacht Club where he served as commodore, vice commodore, treasurer, membership chairman, docks and grounds committee member and on the board of directors.

James also was a National Hog member, as well as the Racine Hog Chapter since 2001. He served as activities officer and road captain at the local level for 4 years.

He is survived by his sons, David (Christy) Andersen of Caledonia and Mike (Lisa) Andersen of Racine; his grandsons, Shawn and Landon Andersen; his brother, Tom (Alice) Andersen of Racine; his niece and nephew, Tom and Kathy Andersen; and his first wife, Donna Mae Andersen, and his longtime companion, Donelle Lloyd.

James was also preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Andersen; and his beloved and dearly missed wife, Nona Andersen.
