Kate Ostojic, 95, passed away at Brookside Care Center, in Kenosha, on Saturday, March 19, 2022, the last day of winter.
She was born in Dusseldorf, Germany on January 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Karl and Greta (nee: Schnettler) Kienapfel.
On August 14, 1948, in Duesseldorf, she was united in marriage to Radovan Ostojic, who preceded her in death in June of 2000. Kate had been employed by Western Publishing Company for over 33 years retiring in 1989 and was a Greeter for Sam’s Club from 2001 until 2012. She was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer for over 69 years, the Western Publishing Company 20 Year Club, and Local #223.
Mrs. Ostojic loved knitting, gardening, playing cards at church every Thursday with her friends, and feeding her family- especially with her old-fashioned German baking. She loved her grandpets, Tascha, Dusty, Monty, Angelo, and DD. Dusty was her hero, he laid at her side many long hours after the death of Mr. Ostojic.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Margaret and Terry Jenison, of Trevor, WI, two grandchildren, Roman Ostojic and Nicole Jenison, other family and friends in Florida and Germany, and special friend Peter Bagdassian. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Mrs. Ostojic was preceded in death by her stepson, Sreten Ostojic, and stepdaughter, Tijosava Dakovic, both of Serbia.
