Alona Mae Miller

Service Details

Services celebrating Alona’s life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 11:00 am with Brother Terry Atwater officiating. Viewing will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will be at 2:30 pm in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery (12000 S. Kedzie Avenue   Blue Island, IL  60406).

“Pk” was born on 5/30/1947, to Reverend Howard & Beatrice Williams, who preceded her in death. She was the youngest of 3 children: One brother Paul Williams (Mary Wells) and one sister, Diane Tracey (Richard D. Tracey, Sr.)

She was educated through the CPS. Alona , also known as “Lona Mae” was a generously beautiful & loving soul. To know her was to love her.

Alona met Frederick Miller (Husband) in High School. Fred became the love of her life. Through their union came six children. Her son, David Miller, preceded her in death. As a wife and a mother of six Alona overcame all obstacles by pursuing & accomplishing with honors a nursing profession. She graduated at the top of her class, while also obtaining her associates degree in liberal arts. Alona was always fascinated with the human body & how it functions. She always had the gift of gab and loved people.

It was for these combined reasons that Alona decided to become a nursing instructor. Alona taught nursing (LPN, CNA & MED) throughout the citywide colleges of Chicago, IL. Alona performed as well as taught nursing for over 35 years.

Alona opened up her heart & home to many. She will be truly missed for her unyielding love. Alona was called home to Christ on 09/26/2022.

She leaves to mourn her passing: Four Sons: Frederick Miller, Curtis Miller , Howard Miller, Osecola Miller, and one daughter, Alona D. Miller.

Grand Children: Frederick III, Dwayne, Veronica (Edwin) Quiana, Takiah, Nadia , Davina, David, Jr.,  Jamil, Kailah, Curtis Jr., Sanaia, Tiara ,Monique, Oscianna , Alexis, Osceola (Bianca), Zeah, Alana, Marcus, Ozari, Alante Grant , Aviance Butler….And their heirs. And a lot of other loving relatives and friends.
