Brunhilde “Hilde” Lohnhardt, 90, passed away at St. Monica’s Senior Living on Saturday, October 15, 2022.

She was born in Einbeck, Germany on June 5, 1932, the daughter of the late Ernst and Frieda (nee: Hundertmark) Wolter.  Hilde married the love of her life, Max P. Lohnhardt on August 25, 1956 before immigrating to the United States.  He proceeded her in death on October 14, 2021.

Hilde was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church.  In her earlier years she enjoyed dancing with her husband, playing cards with friends, golfing, and bowling.  She enjoyed cooking and baking, which produced so many delicious meals and desserts.  She also had a talent for crocheting, which resulted in many beautiful blankets and throws.  Not only did she gift those to family and friends, but wanted to use those skills to help those in need.  Hilde was a very kind and loving woman who loved everyone, but loved her family above all.  She was the happiest caring and being in the presence of her family.

She is survived by her daughters and son, Doris Ground of Kansas City, MO, Ronnie (Susan) Lohnhardt of Mount Pleasant and Mary Thillemann of Franksville; her seven grandchildren, Allison Opperman, Stephanie (Steve) Klein, Michelle Opperman, Joseph (Erin) Thillemann, Jessica Lohnhardt, Matthew Thillemann, and Max (Lindsay) Lohnhardt; seven great-grandchildren, Madison, Ashton, Evan, Collin, Marcus, Vincent, and Nathan.  In addition to her parents and husband, Hilde was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Randall Thillemann on October 14, 2022, and by her sister, Greta Wolter.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, for a visitation from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.  A service honoring and celebrating her life will follow at 5:00 p.m.  A private entombment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.
