Darlene Ann Sorensen

Service Details

The family will be hosting a combined funeral service for Darlene and her daughter, Rhonda Briwick, who passed on December 20, 2024. The service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 2417 Drexel Ave. on Saturday, August 9th at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends can meet with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

 

 

Darlene A. Sorensen (nee: Langdon), 85, of Racine, passed away at Pleasant Point Senior Living on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Darlene was born in Racine on February 28, 1940 the daughter of the late Alfred and Luella (nee: Mentch) Langdon.

Darlene was a lifelong resident of Racine. She was a graduate of Washington Park High School, Class of ’58. On April 14, 1960, she marries the love of her life, Ronald Sorensen. They were married 41 years until his passing in2002. They enjoyed many adventures and road trips together, especially their trips to Las Vegas. Darlene had many talents, but her greatest passion was for her flower garden. For many years, she took great pride in her yard.

In addition to being a wife to Ronald and a mother to Roland and Rhonda, Darlene worked at Webster Electric and retired from the Racine Unified School District after serving 27 years as the Account Payable Clerk. In her retirement years, Darlene became an avid bowler. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Roland and Susan Krikau Sorensen; four granddaughters, Jennifer, Carole, Angelia, and Tina; as well as three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Darlene was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Briwick.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Pleasant Point Senior Living, and Badger Hospice for their care and compassion shown to them and Darlene.
