Service Details

A Homegoing Service for Herman will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11:00AM. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 10:00AM until the service. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

Our beloved father, Herman Folsom, passed away peacefully in his home on July 24, 2025 at the age of 87. He is survived by the love of his life, Marilyn Davis.

 He was born in New Albany, Mississippi on March 21, 1938, the son of the late Willie Mae Golden. The oldest of 17 children, Herman was raised by his grandmother (Momma Fronie) whom he affectionately referred to as “Maw”.  Herman moved to Racine in 1955 at the age of 17. Herman worked as a foreman at AccuTemp Heat Treating until his retirement in 1997.  Herman was an avid boxing and baseball fan, often listening to his favorite team, the New York Mets, down by the lake. Herman enjoyed listening to Al Green songs, watching Westerns and spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves behind his children, Brandie Folsom, James Folsom, Alondra (Javail) Winston and Shelli (Gary) Clary and special daughter Myra Belen; Godson, Cortlen Stoner; brother, Stevie Golden; and sisters Caroline Golden and Sherrell Solomon; nine grandchildren, Kiara Strickland, Dominique Williams, Kayla (Kendrick) Johnson, Christopher Clary, Ali Strickland, Alexis Folsom, Jaylin Rivera, Isaiah Folsom and Ariana Cobb; and 10 great-grandchildren .  He was preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Kyah Strickland; stepson, Christopher Holton; and 12 brothers and 3 sisters.
