A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 11:00 am in St. Mary by the Lake Catholic Church (7605 Lakeshore Drive in Caledonia 53402) with Fr. Thomas Vathappallil officiating. A memorial luncheon will follow. Visitation will be at St. Mary by the Lake Church on Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 am. Private entombment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum on Friday, September 6th.

Caledonia – We are saddened at the loss of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Raymond Henry Pfeiffer, Jr., age 91, who passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, with his loving family by his side.
Ray was born on October 9, 1932 in Racine to Raymond H. Pfeiffer, Sr. and Viola (nee: Lui) Pfeiffer. He was a graduate of Washington Park High School. He served our country in the United States Army from 1953-1955. Ray was a union member of Local 321 and a firefighter with the Racine Fire Department for 32 years, retiring as a Captain in 1988.
The summer of 1962, Ray met the love of his life, Shirley A. Peterson. They were united in marriage on May 11,1963 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Racine. They made a great team, especially for raising their children together.
Ray and Shirley were longtime members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and, for the past 30 years, St. Mary by the Lake Parish. Ray was also a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 697 and Assembly 1207. Ray enjoyed bowling, golf, Packer & Brewer games on TV & radio.
Unfortunately, Ray lost his eyesight gradually starting in 1995 but we never heard him complain. Ray always took things as they came.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley; their children, Carey (Christine) Pfeiffer, Andy (Sue) Pfeiffer and Kimberly Pfeiffer; grandchildren, Justin (Amber) Pfeiffer, Katlyn (Melissa) Prochnow, Raymond Pfeiffer and Curtis McCray; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Skyla, Ian, Hensley and Capri; sisters, Elaine Stuhr and Rita Krogh; and many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jeffrey Pfeiffer (age 2); sisters, Loraine (Ed) Tomasek, Joan (Walter) Johnson, Jackie (Bill) Geertsen and Lucille (Arnie) Felton; and brothers-in-law, Carl Stuhr and Stan Krogh.

I’ll always remember Ray he took me fishing he took me on rollercoaster rides unbelievable in a poniac convertible. Then I was lucky enough to work with him I’ll never forget riding on the back of engine 1 while he was driving flying down the street with the mirrors 1in from the light poles he was the best

Sorr to hear of Rays passing away. I worked with him when I was a rookie. I also golfed with him for years, He was a great guy to golf with and a great guy to work with on the fire department. I miss him.
