Julie’s Personal Touch

Scottsdale, AZ – Brian Peter Zickus, 63, formerly of Racine, passed away unexpectedly from cancer while visiting family in Wisconsin. He was born in Racine on June 3, 1954, the son of Peter and Mary Ellen (nee: Burdick) Zickus. He was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School (Class of 1973) and attended UW-Parkside.

Brian had a great love for the outdoors and cooking, which began early in life as a Boy Scout. He was proud to be one of the few to attain the rank of Eagle. Brian eventually became a chef and worked at several restaurants and started his own catering company, BJ Rollin Cuisine with Joel Powel, catering golf tournaments, movies and commercials for over 20 years. He also loved fishing and spending time at Horsehead Lake in Lake Tomahawk, WI, and was looking forward to spending future summers there at the family cottage. Most of all he loved his family, and being with the light of his life – his grandson Zachary.

Brian is survived by his loving daughter, Jaime Zickus; grandson Zachary Zickus both of Scottsdale; his mother Mary Ellen Zickus (Thomas Sommers) of Caledonia; dear friend Mary Michel of Racine; as well as many Zickus and Burdick cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Peter Zickus; and infant sister Mary Elizabeth Zickus.

A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (2201 Northwestern Avenue) on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Visitation from 10am-11am immediately followed by the memorial mass. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Caledonia. Memorials to the family; or to St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.

Deepest sympathy unfortunately our lord desided to take him way too early from us. God must have a special position to be filled and needs and needs Brian to fill it. RIP
