Crystal Dawn LaPoint-King

May 31, 1968 – Oct 3, 2015

Waukesha – Crystal Dawn LaPoint-King, 47, received the promise of eternal life on Saturday, October 3, 2015.  She was born in Racine on May 31, 1968, daughter of Timothy and Sandra (nee: Peterson) LaPoint.

Crystal was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lieutenant Colonel (retired) David Wayne King, on September 01, 2007, in Las Vegas.  Crystal and David were truly in love with each other and always took care of one another’s needs; it was a true love story.

Crystal graduated from Park High School in Racine in 1986.  She was a very brilliant, energetic, generous, and compassionate woman.  She was the President/CEO of the Elite Human Capital Group in Brookfield.  Her staff looked up to her as an “office mom”.  Crystal’s business was ranked among the top 25 woman owned businesses in the state of Wisconsin.

Crystal also had a soft-spot in her heart for animals and truly was a crusader for animals in need.  She and David have rescued many canine companions over the years.  Crystal supported many animal shelters especially, Bichon & Little Buddies Animal Rescue.

Crystal’s spent her life helping others.  She truly exemplifies someone who walks the walk when it came to helping others.  Even in her death, Crystal continues to touch lives by being a bone and tissue donor.  The quality of life for up to 100 lives can be improved with the gift Crystal has given.

Crystal leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, David King of Waukesha; sons, Devin King, Alexander King; parents, Tim and Sandy LaPoint of Racine; in-laws, Jim and Mary King of Omaha, NE; sister, Michelle LaPoint-Haws of Racine; Godson and nephew, Cody Alan Haws of Racine; sisters-in-law, Laura (Mike) Lagana of Atlanta; Mary “Beth” (Russell) Miller of Omaha, NE; brother-in-law, James (Anni) King of Omaha, NE; four-legged companions, Wally, Stanley, Dora, Bella, Carol, and Fezzywinkle; Crystal’s extended family at Elite Human Capital Group; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

Crystal is preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Wilma Peterson, and Albert and Maggie LaPoint.

A celebration of Crystal’s life will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2015, 11:00am, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, Racine, WI, 53403.  Visitation will be held on Friday evening, October 9, 2015, 4:00pm until 7:00pm, at the funeral home.  Visitation will continue on Saturday at 10:00am until the time of the service.  Burial will follow the service on Saturday at West Lawn Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to Bichon & Little Buddies Animal Rescue, 828 Perkins Drive, Mukwonago, WI, 53149, to continue the support that Crystal loved to give.

Crystal was such an angel to Bichon & Little Buddies Rescue. We were sooooo blessed to know her if only for a relatively short time. Crystal showed us that there are angels on earth. I will be working out of town this weekend and will very unfortunately miss the funeral. I am so sorry to miss it as like all of her friends, I need closure.

Testimonials

May 24, 2018

I can’t express my gratitude enough to Mike and the Draeger-Langendorf staff for such great service provided to us, as we made arrangements to lay our brother to rest. You all went above and beyond to make sure we understood every detail there was to know, from the greatest to the smallest. When we walked out of your office, we walked out with peace, knowing that our brother was in good hands. Thank you Mike for adding that special touch to my brother’s service, that’s the kind of stuff that separates you all from the rest. Once again Thank you so much.

Valerie McLain
