Services celebrating David’s life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 2:00 pm with Pastor John Anderson officiating. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. A memorial dinner will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm.

Union Grove – David Charles Rivest, age 81, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday evening, August 20, 2025 after a short aggressive illness.
David was born in Racine, WI on January 26, 1944 to the late Arthur and Roberta (nee: Holton) Rivest. He was a 1962 graduate of Washington Park High School. In April of 1963, David was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart , Bonnie M. (nee: Olson).
David followed in his father’s career path at their family business, Racine Stamping, eventually serving as CEO until he retired. The business continues today after 79 years. Outside of work, David’s hobbies included: flying any chance he had, sailing, camping, gardening, horses, cooking, grilling and robust campfires. He was a talented musician & gifted steel guitarist.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Bonnie; daughters, Brenda Rivest and Debbie (Rick) Sprague; son, Michael Rivest, Gabriel Fernandez; grandchildren, Kevin (Indijana) Cicona, Michelle Cicona and Randy (Megan) Knudsen; 3 great-grandsons; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Ethel (Paul) Heck; brother, George Rivest; and by Bonnie’s parents, Everett and Frances Olson.
