David "Dave" Lee Lidester

Service Details

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:00 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Fr. Terry Huebner officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9:30 – 11:00 am.

Racine – David Lee Lidester, age 60, passed away peacefully at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, surrounded with the love of his family, on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.

Dave was born in Lafayette, Indiana on February 7, 1959 to the late Frank & Dottie (nee: Clifford) Lidester. He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1977, Purdue University with a Mechanical Engineer Technology degree in 1982 and went on to earn his MBA from Loyola University. In Lafayette on March 5, 1983 he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Janelle Marta (nee: Wolf) Lidester.

Dave has been employed with Modine Manufacturing for the past 36 years, having served in the plant locations in Indiana, Tennessee, Illinois, Austria, Germany, Wisconsin and was the current Global Operations Director since 2017. He was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Among his interests, Dave had quite the eye for landscaping, building & architecture; fishing; history & geneology; and was a worldwide traveler. Above all, Dave loved spending time with his entire family.

Surviving are his loving wife of over 36 years, Janelle; their children, Anna (Andrew) Henn, Sam (Jill) Lidester, Claire (Joel) Hans, Joseph Lidester & Daniel Lidester; grandchildren, Anders, Ethan, Otto, August & Mabel; sisters, Linda Leveille & Diane (Jim) Mahalko; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Tom) McDuffee & Joanna (Tom) Harper; nieces, nephews, other relatives, Modine family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Joanie Lidester; brother, Tom Lidester; Janelle’s parents, Raymond & Bonnie Wolf; and sister-in-law, Joceyln Wolf-Bowen .

    I am very sorry for your loss. Dave and I worked very closely at Modine on a large project when he was Operations Manager for the Truck division (many years ago). Dave was an excellent person to team with on projects, but even better as a person / friend.

    I am very sorry for your loss. Dave and I worked very closely at Modine during his European assignment. He was my boss. Dave was an excellent person to deal with that support the development of Italian branch.

    Very saddened to hear of David loss. End of Oct.2019, still phone call with me and work together after hospital treatment during Sep.-Oct. 2019. David travel few times to Wuxi and give us lots of supports. but We loss David now. Please accept my heartfelt condolences!

    Please accept my sincere condolences. I am very sorry for your loss and I still can´t believe, that Dave has gone.
    Dave was my boss and Mentor from 2013 – 2015 at MODINE AUSTRIA plant, when he was successfully leading us through very challenging times. He made the difference because of his exceptional leadership qualities. Always polite, always valuing the people through all hierarchies, continuously working towards solutions, ever focused on the target. He was leading as an example and a Gentleman, who I will never forget. It has been a privilege to work with him.

    Dave hired me into Modine 23 years ago as a member of his staff at the McHenry plant. He was a great mentor to me early in my career, and someone I continued to turn to for advice throughout the years. Dave embodied the culture and values of our company. He was a respected leader at Modine, who had a positive impact on Modine locations around the world.

    Dave will be greatly missed by Modine and our team. I had the pleasure of working with Dave during my tenure at Lawrenceburg, TN and found him to be an outstanding leader, and man of impeccable character. I had the chance to see him a month or so ago and we were able to catch up on a few things. We was always so positive even in dealing with his current state.     Dave has been a great mentor for me. For many years our interactions were brief but always productive and helpful. The last two years I’ve been fortunate to work alongside him with the CIS plants globally and have grown as a result of his advise and from observation of his leadership.
