Dez’Jon, Lamont Stephan Taylor, age 15, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Campus. He was born on September 16, 2001 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Melodie Hopkins and Jonathan Taylor.  He received his formal education in the Kenosha Unified School District and was currently a student at Mary D. Bradford High School.

Dez’Jon was a very caring, selfless, vibrant and active young man and he was always willing to help any and everybody.  He was a current member of the Kenosha Boys and Girls Club.  Dez’Jon had a great passion for playing football. He has played for the Kenosha Ramblers Youth Football Team as well as the Bradford Football Team. He also enjoyed weight lifting but nothing could compare to the time he spent with his family and friends. Dez’Jon’s contagious smile would light up any room.  He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dez’Jon was preceded in death by his grandmother, Diedra Hunter and his great grandmothers, Bessie Hunter and Cora Lee.

Dez’Jon leaves to cherish his legacy; his loving mother, Melodie Hopkins; his father, Jonathan Taylor; his sisters, A’Tara Taylor and N’Diya Hopkins; his brothers, Jaiden Hopkins, Amir Robinson and O’Jore Hopkins; his grandmother, Jackie Wilson; his grandfathers, Clifton Hopkins Sr. and Lamont (Taffy) Williams; his great grandfather, David L. (Margaret) Hunter Sr. as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and other dear relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Dez’Jon’s Life will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2017, 10:00am in Journey Church, 10700 75th St, Kenosha, WI.  Visitation will be held in the church on Saturday from 9:00am until the time of service.  Interment will take place at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.

The family has requested that donations be made directly to the funeral home to help with Dez’Jon’s funeral and burial expenses.
