Service Details

His Homegoing Service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, December 20th, at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will be that Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Ernest “Scooner” Garrett, 58, completed his earthly journey on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. He was born in Chicago, IL on October 25, 1963, the son of Ernest L. and the late Rosemary (nee: Garrett) Massie.

“Scooner” had been working as a plumbers’ assistant. He loved music…. listening, singing and dancing to all of it. His family and friends were the most important part of his life.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Moses Garrett; children, Ernest Massie, of Racine, Darius Massie, of Milwaukee, Monte Massie, Briana Massie, both of Racine, and Daron Massie, in CA; numerous grandchildren; father, Ernest L. (Charlene) Massie, of Racine, siblings, Sidney (Ella Mae) Massie, of Waukegan, IL, Anthony Massie, Raymond Massie, Tamyra Massie, Tramayne Massie, Zarnell Massie, all of Racine, Tracy Williams, of Green Bay, Anton House, in MD, and Sherrie Tucker, of Racine. His nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive him. In addition to his mother, Rosemary, “Scooner” was preceded in death by his daughter, Shamikia.
