Gloria J. Chizek, 83, of Racine, WI, died peacefully at Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie, WI on June 27, 2022.  Despite the challenges of living with ALS, she was a fighter and never gave up, doing as much as she could until her death.

Gloria was born in Racine on September 26, 1938, to Jerome and Agnes (nee: Homolka) Kopecky.  She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1956.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, swing dancing, and playing cards with her cherished friends.  She also treasured her road trips to Strathcona, Minnesota and Grand Forks, North Dakota to visit her cousins.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Kim (Brian) Kent, of Burlington, VT, Bill Farnsworth (Laurie Merlo) of Sturtevant, WI, and Wayne Alan Farnsworth (Silvia Hung) of Racine, WI, her grandchildren: Jason (Beth) Farnsworth, Ashley Farnsworth (Phil Moore), Tess (Austin) Smullen, Neil Kent, Monica, Billy and Bristal Farnsworth, Kayla (Mike) Martinez, and Riley and Samantha Chizek, her great-grandchildren: Olivia and Lucy Farnsworth, Alex and Angela Moore, Brayden Smullen, Mya, Mackenzie, and Madison Martinez, and Eloise Tellez, her daughter-in-law, Patricia Farnsworth, and step-son, Joseph (Allison) Chizek.

She was predeceased in death by her husband, John Chizek, her beloved son, David Farnsworth; her siblings, Eleanor Thomsen, Ernie Kopecky, and Irv Kopecky; her grandson Nicholas Farnsworth; and her first husband, Wayne Farnsworth.

We will miss her strength, energy, and humor.

A memorial service will be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Road, Mount Pleasant, WI on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.  Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service at 4:00-5:00 p.m.

A spunky courageous good friend I’ll miss tremendously. We reunited 2 years ago after losing track of one another and thank goodness for that. Will have our Polish Hall days ingraved in my lasting years.
