Racine – James “Phillip” Lassiter, age 66, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Thursday, August 27, 2020.

James “Phillip” was born in Mayfield, KY on September 19, 1953 to James and Nina (nee: Powell) Lassiter. At the age of 2, he came to Racine with his family. Phillip was educated at Janes, Washington Junior & William Horlick High School. After earning a machinist degree from MATC, Phillip was employed at JI Case & Jacobsen Mfg.

Born with a passion for extraordinary art, where he gained his nickname “Sketch Pad” for his coming to life drawings. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, ice skating, history, cartoons & years ago, was an accomplished gymnast. Above all, was an extremely proud uncle and loved spending time with his entire family. Phillip was a very entertaining person, who would keep you laughing…with not a dry eye in sight.

Surviving are his loving mother, Nina; brothers, Dwight, Joseph & Dwayne Lassiter; sister, Eureka Bell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Phillip was preceded in death by father, James.
