My sister just called me to inform me of Jerry’s passing. I was both Surprised and saddened To hear this and please allow me to express my sincere condolences to Maureen and the entire Johnson family.
I first met Jerry at the KYF gym In 1961 as we both were training for the 1962 Golden Gloves tournament. Jerry was an excellent boxer and quite the gentleman as well. He was always happy to help me develop my limited boxing skills and I have always held a special place in my heart for Jerry.
I am indeed sorry to hear of his passing.
    RIP Jerry.
