John Louis Dvoracek

Apr 5, 1949 – Nov 13, 2024

Service Details

A visitation for John will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, 1:00pm – 2:00pm, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Lockwood Park Congregaton, 1600 Summerset Drive. A service will follow at 2:00pm.

In loving memory of John L. Dvoracek, 75, who passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. He was born in Hinsdale, IL, on April 5, 1949, son of the late Milton and Mildred (nee: Smola) Dvoracek.

He was united in marriage to his first wife, Janet (nee: Smith) Dvoracek, and together they bore a son, Robert Dvoracek. In 2002, he was united in marriage to Frances Irene (nee: Cook) Dvoracek.

John grew up in Clarendon Hills, IL. He graduated from Hinsdale Central High School. He furthered his education at Southern Illinois University, earning a degree in Aerodynamics. His dream was to one day be a pilot.

In 1994, John was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and served as an Elder in the Lockwood Park Congregation. After his retirement in April, he spent his time with his wife telling others about God’s Kingdom and how that is the solution to the worlds problems. He loved Jehovah dearly and enjoyed sharing the Good News with others.

John, or PaPa John, as his bonus family affectionately calls him, enjoyed music. Lynyrd Skynyrd was a band that he was fond of. “Free Bird” was one of his favorite songs. The very first 45 he bought was Elvis, “Return to Sender”. He also wanted to learn to play the guitar. He loved riding his Hog (motorcycle). He enjoyed gazing at the stars and viewing the eclipse with his telescope. He loved watching Dr. Who with his son-in-law, Jeff Jones. John also loved to eat; especially BBQ thighs made by his other son-in-law, Anthony Oliver. PaPa John was a wonderful, soft spoken, kind soul and he enjoyed BBQs, family gatherings, and game night. He had numerous friends, too many to mention, that will miss him dearly.

Surviving are his wife, Frances; son, Robert; bonus children, Brenda (Jeff) Jones, Denena (Kurt) Finley, Tracy (Anthony) Oliver, Joe Edwards (Josette); sisters, Janice Halverson, Diane (Jack) Bochar; brother, Michael (Shannon) Dvoracek; numerous bonus grandchildren as well as great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Mildred Dvoracek; grandson, DeMarco Edwards; and great-granddaughter, Arielle Longstreet.

A visitation for John will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, 1:00pm – 2:00pm, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Lockwood Park Congregaton, 1600 Summerset Drive. A service will follow at 2:00pm.
