Jovahnte leaves to cherish his precious memories, his parents, Aaron Lewis and Marion Delray; his sons, Jovahnte Lewis, Jr., and Jaiden Lewis and their mother, Brianna Johnson; his brothers, Dantrell Lewis, Carlos Farmer, Se’Vahn Delray, Tyberious Watkins, Dorice Watkins, Gabriel Lewis; his sisters, Heavenly Griffin and Faith Griffin; his grandparents, Mary King, Jodine Delray, James Lewis, David Bleadsoe; his great grandmother, Irene King; his aunts, Venessa (Charles) Griffin and Kati (Isael) Johnson; his uncles, Ryan King and Walter Delray; his special cousins, Tashiana Flanagan, Thomas Flanagan, III, Keory Jones, Darnesha Jones, Shantavia Clark, Isaiah Dobbs, Madysen Dobbs, Niko Dobbs; as well as many more cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Jovahnte was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Spencer King, Sr., J.D. Lewis, Juanita Chaney, Wally and Marian Delray; and his uncle, Paul Delray.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, July 7, 2022 for a visitation from 10-11 a.m.  The celebration of his life and Homegoing will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby officiating.

It’s hits different when you know the person personally, you were and will always be a great father to your boys, not many men would be as committed to their children as you were. It’s was a pleasure to meet you in this lifetime, may God wrap your loved ones in his wings. You were a wonderful soul, rest in paradise Vahnte.

Perfect example of perfect strangers turning into friends and then turning into family. I met you a few years back and every since then it’s been nothing but love. What I admired mostly was the way you loved your family ,the way you showed your love ,your free will and spirit and that laugh! I always called you a “Rolling Stone” b/c 1 day you’d be here and the next you’d be on your way to another state lol. It wouldn’t be right if you were and didn’t start a debate 😁. You were extra special, truly a joy to be around and I can say I feel blessed to have been able to meet you, what a pleasure. You’ll definitely be missed but the happy memories will always put a smile on my face. May you rest in paradise and lord please watch over his family and wrap your arms around his precious boys tight.

LOVE YOU ALWAYS YOUR FAVE C/O (as you called me)💕💕💕

Testimonials

The Family of Barbara Bell

Michael,

First, let me start out by saying you were a God sent working with me for many years in preparations for my mom’s Homegoing Celebration December 7, 2024. Even though this was our first time meeting in person, I felt like I already knew you. Michael, you demonstrated professionalism, empathy and, your warmth was surprising for me considering your role as a Funeral Director. Your attention to every detail, patient and support has made this process much easier for my family and me. I trusted you and you helped me find closure in a moment of great sadness, and for that we’re eternally grateful. I appreciate the time and energy you put into ensuring everything ran smoothly considering I reside in a different state. Michael, my mom would have loved you and our family is forever grateful for your unwavering dedication and support during our season of grief. May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. (Numbers 6:25)
