Memorial Suggestions

Julie Ann Steiner, age 60, passed away at home on May 20, 2023 with her loving husband, Mark, by her side.  She fought a courageous yet short battle with cancer.

She was born in Racine, WI, on July 31, 1962, to Earl and Susan Seyferth (Hinrichs). Julie grew up spending many summers as a young girl with her sister, Sandra, and her grandparents, camping in Hayward, sparking her love of nature.

On September 30, 1985, Julie married Mark Steiner and made him very happy for 37 wonderful years. Her family was always her priority. She did an outstanding job raising their three children. Together they took many road trips around the state of Wisconsin, where they would spend time exploring the state parks and other wilderness areas. Julie was affectionately known as “Doggy Grandma” by her granddaughter Lily. Julie’s love and compassion will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of meeting her.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; children, Amanda (CJ) Roselle, Douglas (Kirsten) Steiner, Benjamin Steiner; grandchildren, Lily Steiner, Zander Steiner; mother, Susan Seyferth; siblings, Sandra Harper, David Seyferth, Sheri (Rodney) Payne; and her dogs Bear and Finn. She will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Seyferth and grandparents Harry and Myrtle Hinrichs and Roland and Gladys Seyferth.

Per her wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private family remembrance gathering has already taken place. Her ashes will remain in the care of Mark until such time that he joins her, and they can once again spend time together in various nature settings around the country.

The Damn Camp was just one of many family memories that instilled the love of the outdoors, fishing, card games… fly on with your dad, granny & grandpa

Julie was more than a sister by birth, she was a friend by choice. From cliff climbing, D&D, curfew tickets to her finding a husband at a scavenger hunt. We raised our kids together. Shared our highs and lows. I have started to call her several times over the last few days.
Mark, thank you for loving her so well. For giving her the life she deserved to live. Supporting her to achieve things she thought she couldn’t, and reach new heights (literally). May your days be filled with memories that make you laugh and smile. We love you.

All the times I spent romping around with your kids and hanging out around the fires or football games truly were amazing. And Julie’s cheesecake was to die for also. You’re truly going to be missed.

Testimonials

November 13, 2019

I just can’t get over how beautiful everything was for my mom’s funeral. She had a rough last four weeks but your amazing team totally did her justice! I was pretty confused during that hard time, but Brian, you made sure that all the “I”s were dotted and all the “T”s crossed. For that, I thank you. I also would like to thank the amazing team of makeup artists. My mom looked beautiful.
