In loving memory of Lois M. Hubbard, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of the community. Lois was born on December 26, 1938, in Clark County, South Dakota, and passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024, in Racine. Lois was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ronald Dean Hubbard, on March 22, 1958, in Garden City South Dakota.

Her kind heart and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many as she dedicated herself to the noble profession of educating young minds. As a daycare teacher at Child Harbor in Racine, Lois poured her love and wisdom into countless children, shaping their futures with care and compassion. She continued this endeavor by also providing years of home care for her own grandchildren.

Lois’s unwavering faith led her to the embrace of the Community Church of the Nazarene, where her spirit shone bright, exemplifying love and kindness in all she did. As a pillar of strength and warmth within her family, Lois found solace and fulfillment in the company of her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her giving nature and nurturing soul were the cornerstones of her legacy, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

With a heart full of boundless love and unwavering dedication, Lois found joy in the simplicity of life’s pleasures. Her passion for writing, travel, and scrapbooking captured the essence of her family’s and friends’ journeys and adventures, reflecting the tapestry of memories she treasured. A skilled chef, her culinary delights brought comfort and warmth to her family’s table – be it her tantalizing tacos, heavenly homemade bakery treats, or her famous chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles that warmed the soul.

Lois’s memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her loved ones. Survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Hubbard, her children Douglas (Kristal) Hubbard, Sherri (John) Scharping, Shelly (Gregg) Peters, her grandchildren, Jamey (Matt), Lindsay (Jaime), Roni (Mitchell), Bailey (Tony), Konner (Katie), Danielle (Mitch), Holly, Cody; great-grandchildren, Glendon, Parker, Grayson, Kalli, Grant, Carter, Hunter, Kameron, Cooper, Ryker, Brady, Remi, London, Tucker; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Davis, Shirley Davis, nieces, Sue Weldon, Julie Ricci, extended family, Barbara Jo, Amy and her girls, Kim (Nate) and girls, Wayne and Ric, Pat and Noel, other relatives and many special friends too numerous to mention.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, John and Elinor (nee: Blashill) Davis, beloved son, Michael Hubbard (d. 4/3/1990), brothers, Laverne Davis, LeRoy Davis, Lloyd Davis, and Myron Davis.

A celebration of Lois’s life and legacy will be held at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, November 8, 2024, 11:30am, 4600 County Line Road, Mount Pleasant, where her family and friends will gather in reverence and remembrance. A public viewing will precede the funeral service at 9:30am, offering a space for all who knew Lois to pay their respects and honor her beautiful journey on Earth. A private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park at a future date. Memorials have been suggested to Youth for Christ in Racine or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to extend a heart-felt “Thank You” to the ICU staff at Ascension-All Saints for the special care given to Lois and her family during this difficult time.

As we gather to bid farewell to Lois, let us remember her with fondness and gratitude, thankful for the light she brought into our lives and the love that endures beyond the bounds of time. May her spirit find eternal peace in the embrace of the heavens, a testament to a life lived with grace and compassion.

I’m so very sorry for your loss! I learned so much from Lois as a little girl and as a women.
Growing up living down the block I ran away to your house often. When Lois know I was upset, she would always give me a big hugs and whisper in my ear, “it will be alright my darling” and finish with, “how about a chocolate chip cookie, it’ll make you feel better” and it always did. We shared a common pain on mothers day, and Lois always came up to me in church to give me a hug and whisper ‘it’ll will be alright my darling”. Thank you Lois for your love and lessons you taught me and love for chocolate chip cookies.
