Service Details

To Celebrate His Life, a short Committal Service will be held followed by the presentation of Full Military Honors, on Friday, March 4, 2022, 11:00am at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St., Union Grove, Wisconsin in the Outdoor Committal Shelter.

Milwaukee, WI (former resident of Racine, WI.) – Otis Wray Jr. was born in Racine, Wisconsin on September 13, 1952, to the parents of Helen (nee: Brown)Wray and Otis Wray Sr. Otis passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2022, at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Otis was a faithful member of Wayman African Methodist Episcopal Church, under the leadership of Pastor Ernest Niโ€™a where he sung in the menโ€™s choir.

He was a graduate of ST. Catherine High School in Racine and attended UWM. Otis served in the US Navy for a number of years until being honorably discharged.

Otisโ€™s memory will forever live on through his daughters Aris (Phillip) Jones from Orlando, FL, Nichole Wray from Los Angeles, CA currently residing in Meridian, MS, and Quina Cade from Racine, WI., 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. Sisters Barbara Wilson and Donna Broom from Racine, WI, and brother Darryl Wray from South Carolina. His favorite cousin William (Chuckie) Freeman, and a host of awesome nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Otis was an avid dresser who loved a good looking suit. He enjoyed his share of the movement focusing on the injustices taking place in Milwaukee, WI. Otis loved children, cooking and dancing, but most of all he loved being a referee for basketball and baseball games.

Otis was proceeded in death by his mother Helen Wray (nee: Brown), father Otis Wray Sr., son Cortez Dotson, sisters Vickie Coleman and Sherry Green, and brother Tracy Wray.
