Rita was born in Milwaukee to Henry and Elizabeth (nee: Horn) Mueller on May 16, 1933. She was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School. On August 22, 1953, Rita was united in marriage with James Mason for 49 years, who preceded her in death on February 12, 2003. She was a long-time active member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, serving on the building, catering and festival committees, was a Sunday school teacher, member of the Church Council, and involved with the Eucharistic, Cursillo and prayer ministries. Rita experienced life with a positive attitude. She loved traveling worldwide, camping trips with her family, nature walks in the park and downhill skiing. She frequently stopped at rummage/estate sales for treasure hunting. Rita enjoyed baking and cooking and trying new recipes from her collection of cookbooks. She was always eager to lend a hand to her family and friends whenever needed and delivered meals to the homebound.

A special thank you to Hospice Alliance and to the staff at Home Inspired Senior Living for the many years of love and care you have given her. You are truly angels on earth.

Surviving are her children, Tom (Leslie) Mason, Sharon Mason, JoElle (Sam) Mason and Kathy (Tim) Anderson; grandchildren, Amanda, Emily, Justin, Ben, Valerie, Bonnie, Katie, Sam Jr, Emele; great grandchildren, Kenzie, Taylor, Mason, Eli, Summer, Bryce, Lilly, Addy, Luke, Jacob, Jeremy, Lucy and Joshua; great great grandchildren, Bryce Jr. and Rae’Lynn; sisters, Monica Schmeckel, Karla Uhlenhake, Paula Thomas and Cecelia (Bruce) Koellner. Testimonials

October 9, 2020

I would like to thank Mike Langendorf, Bill Althaus and the rest of the staff for the wonderful celebration of the life for my father Raymond L. Szymanski who was a WWII veteran. I especially appreciate how much you really listen and the questions you asked regarding who my father was and what he was all about. Those details showed up in every part of the service from the flowers, the music, the thank you’s, pictures, obituary, outdoor military honors, etc. etc. My father would have been so grateful for the way you honored his life. I also received phone calls from family and friends indicating how beautiful the service was in every way. You and your staff definitely go above and beyond. You treat everyone like family and your compassion is so genuine. There should be more people in the world just like all of you. No words can express our gratitude for all you have done for myself, my father and our family. Thank you so very much and may the Lord bless you and yours! Sincerely Terri Carls and the Szymanski Family

Theresa Lynn Carls
