Service Details

Funeral services, with military honors, will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 4:30 pm. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 – 4:30 pm.

Family and friends are invited to join us for dinner at Kenosha Country Club following the services.

Roy Perry Bye, age 96, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, October 15, 2024 at Radford Green at Sedgebrook in Lincolnshire, IL.

Roy was born in Milwaukee on September 28, 1928 to the late Perry Oliver and Hildegard Bye. He attended Cudahy High School and Marquette University. Following, he faithfully served our country with the US Army as a corporal in the Korean War. On December 17, 1952 in Sapporo, Japan, he was united in marriage with Donna (nee: Miura) Bye.

Roy served as Vice-President of Operations for Nordberg Nippon KK, retiring in 1989. Roy & Donna lived in Cudahy, WI from 1952-1975, Oak Creek, WI 1975-1999, Mount Pleasant, WI 2000-2021, finally Lincolnshire, IL beginning in 2022.

Roy served as President of the church council at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cudahy. He had also served as President of Rotary Club – Mitchell Field having been presented with the Paul Harris Award. Roy had also been active with the Cudahy PTA as President and devoted band parent. Among his interests, Roy enjoyed gardening, puzzles, model airplane building, playing cards, hiking and golfing.

Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 72 years, Donna; their children, Sheila Ann (William) Kerley of Mount Pleasant, WI; Gail Celestine (Michael) Carton-Adinamis of Lake Forest, IL and Derek Roy (Angela) Bye of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Zachary Derek Bye of Arlington, TX; Justin William (Lindsay) Kerley of Mequon, WI; Andrew Carton of Scottsdale, AZ; Briana Marie (Matthew) Sargent of Green Oaks, IL and Nicholas Adinamis of Indiana; great-grandchildren, Haley Kerley, Mackenzie Kerley, Emma Sargent and Abigail Sargent.

Funeral services, with military honors, will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 4:30 pm with Rev. Dr. Leland L. Longrie officiating.  Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 – 4:30 pm. Family and friends are invited to join us for dinner at Kenosha Country Club following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to one’s favorite charity in the name of Roy have been suggested.
